How aroma affect us

It is not a secret that the state of health and the mood of any person can be influenced by a certain aroma, smell. And this fact is known from ancient times. It was noticed many centuries ago. People who had a more sensitive sense of smell were considered more sensitive individuals.

Knowledge of aromatherapy has been accumulating for centuries. Even then, the healing properties of strongly smelling plants and their mixtures were noticed. And healers had knowledge that could help set a mood and even battle ailments.

Of the five human senses, the sense of smell is the most sensitive and quickest feeling that transmits information to the brain at high speed, almost instantly. The nose has a high sensitivity, especially for strongly smelling odors.

When scientists studied the structure and functions of the brain, a very important discovery was made. This discovery lies in the fact that the site of the brain, which is responsible for conscious thinking, originates from the same site, which is responsible for the sense of smell. Also on this same site, all the emotional processes occur.

What happens when we smell something?

When a person inhales air with a certain smell, first, there is a process of dissolving odors in the nasal mucosa, and then the nerve endings of the olfactory nerve are irritated, and then information about the smell is transmitted to the hypothalamus, which is a portion of the brain. This brain region controls functions such as temperature, hunger, growth, arousal, thirst, blood sugar levels, sleep, and sexual arousal. Also, the hypothalamus is responsible for anger and joyful emotions.

It has already been proven that by using certain fragrances a lot can be achieved. For instance, with the help of a certain smell, you can activate mental activity, and, consequently, performance. And at one time Avicenna proved that it is the essential oil of rose that promotes better thinking, increasing speed.

A very interesting study was conducted involving computer programmers. It has been proven that the inhaling of a certain odor reduces the number of errors in computer programming.

By inhaling the aroma of jasmine oil, the number of errors drops by 3%, with the aroma of lavender oil – about 20%, and with the smell of lemon oil, this figure is whooping 54%!
It has also been proven that the aroma of essential oils like musk, eucalyptus, and lemon favorably affects mental work, contributes to the excitation of the nervous system, relieving feelings of fatigue and increasing efficiency.

Essential oils of orange, rose, sandalwood, lavender, and rosemary are perfect to relieve stress and anxiety.

A study was conducted on the subject of human response to certain smells. After the tests, scientists came to the conclusion that for every person every smell causes certain associations, that is, every smell in the world is associative in nature. From this, we can conclude that every event that occurred in a person’s life was accompanied by a certain aroma.

Scientists have proven that neurological and hormonal processes are interconnected with the sense of smell. And, in their opinion, in the near future, using different aromas, it will be possible to correct the performance, mood, behavior, and emotions of a person.

Here Is Why We Love Plant Therapy

I think you agree with me when I say: it’s really hard to choose high-quality essential oils. With so many companies producing and selling essential oils which one should you pick? What should you look for? How can you be sure if the oil is pure? What about the price? With all the different oils available on the market and so many brands, it is a very difficult task. So let me help you by introducing one of the best and most trusted companies – PLANT THERAPY. When you learn about Plant Therapy you’ll never look elsewhere.

What is the GC/MS report? The letters stand for Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. This is a method that combines the features of gas-liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify different substances within a test sample. Basically, it helps us, customers confirm the purity of the oil and identify therapeutic properties. At any given time those reports are available on Plant Therapy’s website.

The Leaping Bunny Standard

cruelty free,Leaping Bunny,Plant Therapy

The Leaping Bunny certification is the global gold standard for cosmetics, personal care products, and household products. It is the only internationally recognized certification that requires a supplier monitoring system to be implemented by the brand, supply chain checking for animal testing right down to ingredient manufacturer level, adherence to a fixed cut-off date policy and acceptance of ongoing independent audits to ensure compliance.

Leaping Bunny certification is one of the most difficult certifications a company can achieve, but here at Plant Therapy, they’re dedicated to making products that are safe, natural, and good for everyone, even animals.

I tried Plant Therapy and even I was surprised how good their product is. See, before, I used to buy my oils in stores and most of the time they were not so good. I tried many brands and I can tell you one thing: some of them were good but way overpriced, and some, well, I don’t even want to talk about them, just tossed them in the garbage.

Then I came across Plant Therapy. After doing the research I found that every aspect of their business is in a plus column. They are family operated, have superior quality products, they really value their customers, have great customer service, they give a lot back through their philanthropy program and last but not least, their product will not break your wallet.

Do I recommend Plant Therapy? Absolutely! My family had a very positive experience with Plant Therapy starting from their website to receiving and using essential oils. If you thinking to purchase essential oils or a diffuser I want you to head over to Plant Therapy website and give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

6 thoughts on “Essential Oils | 15 Reasons Why We Love Plant Therapy

  1. There is nothing better than a consumer knowing exactly what they’re getting. In today’s world, we have a lot of companies selling us products that may include harmful substances or have been treated with who knows what. But I think when a company is upfront about what exactly is in their product and follows through with their claims, it enhances their credibility to the consumer. Word of mouth and social sharing is still popular today and word travels fast, so for this company to be in its eighth year and remaining true to their original values speaks wonders for me.

    1. Thank you, Todd, for your comments. It is really important to know what you are getting as far as the product itself and the source. And because Plant Therapy stands by its products and provides all kind of information about the product and also third-party testing available for consumers, that’s what is great about this company. I have used their products and definitely recommend it. They are pure and the price is right.

  2. So this thing really works? I am looking for additional way for my treament to have faster recovery. Should I tell this to my doctor first or can I do it without his knowledge? I just want to know of there are some side effects of this so I can be careful

    1. Hi Vincent, thanks for your comment. And thanks for your questions. Aromatherapy does not require doctors approval but if you want to talk to your doctor about it, it is ok, of course. As far as side effects, some people may have an allergy to certain aromas, but that’s about it. Also, I need to mention the delivery method. There are several: defusion, inhale, topical, bath and massage. Each delivery methods have minor side effects which depend on the individual. Diffusion is most common and you will need a diffuser. Again delivery method depends on what you are trying to achieve. Perhaps this is a topic for another article.

  3. This is incredibly interesting. Do you know of any studies conducted in workplaces with essential oils. Like for boosting performance in real life? Do you also know why the Kidsafe line is recommended for ages 2 to 10 in particular? Is it not safe for children under the age of 2?
And just one more (dumb) question. How do I use it? Do I need some kind of container or do I put it in some spray I use?

    1. Miss Momo, thanks for your comments and for your questions. Ok, let’s get to it.

      1. Clinical studies are currently underway in Europe, Australia, Japan, India, the United States, and Canada. Many of these studies describe the remarkable healing properties of various oils. Research on essential oils has been conducted by the food, flavoring, cosmetics, and tobacco industries. They are most interested in the flavor, mood alteration, and preservative qualities of essential oils. Some of these companies have also conducted extensive research on the toxicity and safety of essential oils. Just, for instance, you can read one of the studies here:

      2. Why not use essential oils for infants? Great caution required for infants. Since their skin does not mature until three months old it is more sensitive and more permeable to essential oils. A newborn is also less equipped to deal with adverse effects than an adult because of lower metabolism. That’s why it is recommended not to use essential oils around newborns.

      3. How to use it? Aromatically, Topically, Internally. My favorite way is aromatically. Just buy a diffuser, put a couple of drops in water and turn it on.

Cheers and see you in my next article.
